Homecoming week day 3

Homecoming week continues along with Black and Gold day for the underclassmen and toga day for the upperclassmen.
Spanish 4/5 students today began studying a short story, "Una Carta a Dios" by Mexican writer Gregorio Fuentes.  Short stories are an excellent way to learn about language conventions and cultural elements.  We will discuss the story all the rest of this week.

Spanish 2 students today got to listen to the song "Como Soy" by Manu Manzo, and fill in missing words on a lyrics sheet.  We talked about Manu's home country of Venezuela and her success in the 2015 Latin Grammy Awards.

Those were some highlights for today.  Looking forward to Sportswear Day tomorrow!

What a great second day of Homecoming!

All classes took a vocabulary quiz today, which I should get back to everyone soon.  In Spanish 2, we also talked about strategies on how to succeed on our Quarter 1 FORMATIVE.

Here's what I typed up:

We will continue to practice our interpersonal writing task later this week, and then we take the real thing next week!

Today was the first day of Cosmic Knight Homecoming week!  We enjoyed taking selfies reflecting the day's theme: Black Hole day. It was awesome seeing so many of us wearing black and showing school spirit!

After school, Spanish club made a delicious Dominican dessert, called Helado de Potecito.

Go to this link for the recipe that Gini shared with us:
